-- A COVID-19 outbreak at a long-term care facility in Eugene has infected 32 people and lead to one death, according to Lane County Public Health officials.

The South Hills Rehabilitation Center has had 22 people who tested positive in the past seven days.

LCPH said the source of the spread is from an unvaccinated employee.

Jason Davis with Lane County Public Health said 88% of the South Hills residents are fully vaccinated while 64% of the staff are fully vaccinated.

“Sixty-four percent is still lower than what we would need to hopefully prevent transmission within the staff,” Davis said.
