Including the pastimes you could get from past games like simply drinking a cup of coffee, or listening to Kapp’n singing his shanty’s, it’s literally just a island sandbox building game over the life sim game that had evolved into something you could go to an island and play mini games with friends or strangers with.
But maybe Nintendo are planning Animal Crossing as a launch title for the next console, which may perhaps explain why this has been a touch barebones (to give us content-starved fans something to look forward to).I put a lot of hours into New Horizons, more than other iterations of the game, but I'm more interested in accomplishing tasks than admiring aesthetics.
I’m hoping that the next game will be better, but seeing as how this one sold well, it might be the future of the series..
I don’t cheat (time travel, etc) and overall I’m having a very good experience playing Animal Crossing New Horizons.I do also find it a bit sad because the game completely failed to capture me like the previous ones I played.I love the DIY aspect of this game, being able to decorate outside and seeing everything in HD, but I feel like New Leaf is the better game.
This game had so much potential and made SO much money and yet Nintendo is still giving us the most bare bones updates possible. How will people ever get the new villagers without paying someone online an absurd amount of in game money or nook tickets.
The people who ignore all flaws in the game and say "I'm having a GREAT time, I have 500000+ hours and STILL find stuff to do".
New Horizons is "Baby's First Animal Crossing".People also compare New Horizons to previous entries, given that the previous entries were half the price of the game, yet had more to work towards.
@Dingelhopper I also played the 3DS version of the game.In my personal opinion New Horizons is absolutely 100000x betterI’ve said it after playing New Horizons for a week, a month and a year: it is by far the best Animal Crossing game I’ve playedI also played Home decorator, which was fun for a few hours but not for much longer
And in the end I think it’s very annoying to see people play 300-500 hours of a game and then start complaining that there is no content@Dingelhopper I have played every iteration of Animal Crossing for thousands of hours each, and I have to say..Don't make broad generalizations like, "Anyone who has played previous iterations in the series would never defend ACNH at all" because I having played each AC game starting with Wild World...
Each game has deep rooted memories for me, and New Horizons is no different
I enjoy New Horizons right now, mostly in part because it is one of the few life sims that me and my girlfriend play together (I live in the US and she lives in Switzerland) so getting to hang out on each other's islands is just wonderful
I have constantly thought that was the weakest point in every game before New Horizons
"How will people ever get the new villagers without paying someone online an absurd amount of in game money or nook tickets?"
