The first non-English-language film to win Best Picture, Parasite earned six nominations and four wins at the 2020 Academy Awards — including Best Director, Best International Feature, and Best Original Screenplay. 

Earlier in the awards season, Parasite swept Best Foreign Language Picture at the Golden Globes, Best International Film at the Independent Spirit Awards, and Best Film Not in the English Language at the BAFTA Awards
