The Oregon Health Authority on Saturday reported two new deaths from the novel coronavirus, for a toll of 163 people, as the number of known cases rose to 4,662.
A 50-year-old man in Multnomah County, who tested positive April 23 and died at his residence on May 29, and a 70-year-old woman also in Multnomah County, who tested positive on April 8 and died on May 9 in her residence, are the latest people to succumb to the disease.
The Oregon Health Authority says that one case previously reported in Deschutes County was determined not to be a case, and the county totals have been adjusted to reflect that change.
The Oregon Health Authority also reports that the weekly testing summary for the week ending June 5 shows that 20,539 people were tested, and that as of week’s end, the cumulative positive testing rate was 3.1 percent of tests performed.
