The total number of known cases of the novel coronavirus in Oregon climbed to 4,662 as of Saturday, according to the Oregon Health Authority.

The Oregon Health Authority on Saturday reported two new deaths from the novel coronavirus, for a toll of 163 people, as the number of known cases rose to 4,662.

A 50-year-old man in Multnomah County, who tested positive April 23 and died at his residence on May 29, and a 70-year-old woman also in Multnomah County, who tested positive on April 8 and died on May 9 in her residence, are the latest people to succumb to the disease.

The Oregon Health Authority says that one case previously reported in Deschutes County was determined not to be a case, and the county totals have been adjusted to reflect that change.

The Oregon Health Authority also reports that the weekly testing summary for the week ending June 5 shows that 20,539 people were tested, and that as of week’s end, the cumulative positive testing rate was 3.1 percent of tests performed.
