Genshin Impact Developer Sues Players Who Leaked 1.2 Closed Beta Content - Niche Gamer

Genshin Impact developer miHoYo have announced they have taken legal action against players who leaked the1.2 version closed beta content.

In a statement released on the game’s website in Japanese (translation: DeepL), miHoYo state that some players who participated in the upcoming version 1.2 beta had leaked information about the new content online.

As this was in violation of the non-disclosure agreement they signed, miHoYo state they have “issued an advisory to the players in question and have taken action against the breach of the agreement.” DualShockers reports two players were those who leaked the content, and specifically mentions the players being sued.

For us and our travelers, this is not a pleasant result.” DualShockers also report that “nearly everything” about version 1.1 was leaked prior its launch.

The statement closed with miHoYo re-iterating they would take “stringent measures” against contract violations, and for fans to not spread leaked information.
