VICTOR, NY — Ontario County Public Health is investigating several small clusters of COVID-19 and is asking those who attended a block party on Brent Knoll or Montgomery Lane in Victor over the Columbus Day weekend (Oct. 10-12) to quarantine for 14 days.
Eight Ontario County residents have tested positive for COVID-19 and an additional four are presumed positive after attending the block party.
Like other counties in the region, Ontario County is seeing a spike of COVID-19 cases, according to Public Health Director Mary Beer.
Ontario County Public Health is concerned because we have noted several cases associated with block parties, sleepovers and clambakes," Beer said in a prepared statement.
Also, 506 travelers are on precautionary quarantine in Ontario County and are being followed by state Department of Health tracers, and 342 negative test results were reported in the last 24 hours.
Because COVID-19 positive cases and hospitalizations are increasing, the health department's goal of not overwhelming healthcare systems remains a priority, Beer said.
