2019 was beyond rocky for Khloé Kardashian. After forgiving her then-boyfriend Tristan Thomspon after he cheated on her multiple times– he cheated again. Last year over Valentine’s Day Weekend, the NBA star was caught kissing KarJenner family friend, Jordyn Woods. It was the final nail in the coffin for Thompson and Kardashian’s relationship.

Though the Revenge Body host was furious, she was determined to forgive both Thompson and Woods and put the past behind her. It took some time. However, by the end of 2019, she was ready to move on.

“I want nothing but beautiful blessings for EVERYBODY that has ever been in my life,” she said in December 2019. “Regardless of what they have done or not done to me. I want people to be kinder in this world. We are all here to live and experience life. I want peace and happiness for ALL! I’ve given it to God. That message is for Jordyn. It’s for anyone else who has ever hurt me. For some reason, people want to assume that I’m talking only about Tristan.”

Now, we know that Thompson’s bond with his daughter, True, enabled the Good American founder to soften her heart towards him.

In the months following their breakup, Thompson did everything in his power to try and win Kardashian back. He lavished her with jewelry, compliments, and everything in between. However, when the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star said she was done, she meant it.

“Tristan is very charming and sweet to Khloé,” an insider told People. “She always wanted to keep her family together because of True. Splitting from Tristan in the past was extremely difficult for her. She is flattered that he is trying to win her back, but not flattered enough to be in a romantic relationship with him. Who knows what will happen in the future though. Right now she is focused on just getting along with him so they can have the best family time together with True.”

Though it took some time for her to get to a good place with Thompson, Kardashian and the NBA star have a great co-parenting relationship. The entire KarJenner family have worked overtime to make sure they kept things mature and respectful.

“Everything they’re doing – communicating, raising True, etc. – is at an extremely slow pace,” an insider told Hollywood Life. “Khloe realized that Tristan was making positive changes for their family, and she really wants to see if she can make it work not for True’s sake, but for [also] her own. [The Karjenners[ all know that Tristan needs to be in True’s life. … They’ll be there to support her if being with Tristan makes her happy.”

Though getting back on good terms was no easy feat — Kardashian has always adored the bond that True has with her dad. “The way Tristan has shown up for True and the unmistakable love and bond between them absolutely softened Khloe’s heart towards him, she loves seeing it,” an insider told Hollywood Life. “It definitely helped her with forgiveness. True is everything to her and seeing how happy she gets when her daddy is around, does make Khloe want him around more, it’s only natural.“Tristan has been really good about making his relationship with True a priority. He’s head over heels in love with her and the older she gets the stronger their bond gets.”
