Marth's reliance on tippers gives the impression of a way less consistent and weaker version of Lucina in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - EventHubs

Thinking back to the era of Smash 4, it was difficult to imagine Lucina being superior to Marth in Super Smash Bros.

It was for this reason that everyone expected Marth to be the superior pick to Lucina once Super Smash Bros.

As it turns out, Lucina is considered to be the superior choice while Marth is almost always the weaker Fire Emblem rep.

Still, Marth is generally relegated as being a "high tier" in Super Smash Bros.

Being that Lucina is often looked at as a top tier, Lucina's existence means that Marth will probably see even less representation than low tiers since there's really no reason to pick him over Lucina.

After having spent time with Marth, I'm actually starting to think the issue might be even worse than that.

Rather than a high tier that is overshadowed in nearly every capacity, Marth might be a low tier in Super Smash Bros.

While it's true that T1|MkLeo did try to make Marth work for some time, it really felt like other top players were making glaringly bad mistakes against him such as air dodging at the wrong times.

So why did Marth work in Super Smash Bros.
