Michigan health officials reported two-day totals of 7,505 new confirmed coronavirus cases and 118 confirmed COVID-19 deaths for Tuesday, Oct.

The weekly average reported on Monday was 3,638 reported cases and 37 new confirmed deaths per day.

Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 1,097,129 reported coronavirus cases and 21,744 confirmed deaths.

Additionally, the state has reported 140,716 probable cases and 1,429 probable deaths, in which a physician and/or antigen test ruled it COVID-19 but no confirmatory PCR test, which detects the presence of a virus, was done.

Every county in Michigan reported at least one new case of COVID-19.

Wayne County led the state, with 928 new cases, followed by Kent County (665), Oakland County (609), Macomb County (605) and Genesee County (302).

Wayne County led the state with 14 deaths, followed by 10 in Oakland County, nine in Macomb County and seven in Kent County.

In this chart, numbers for the most recent days are incomplete because of the lag time between people getting sick and getting a confirmed coronavirus test result, which can take up to a week or more.
