For the first time in more than five months, Alabama hospitals are treating more than 1,000 people for COVID-19.
The Alabama Department of Public Health reported 1,083 people were currently being treated for the virus on Tuesday, as the state continues to grapple with a new surge in cases and hospitalizations brought on by the highly contagious Delta variant.
