State health officials also confirmed 162 new COVID-19 cases in Massachusetts, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 104,961.

Among the most notable changes in the DPH report was a decision to no longer report a sum of the state's confirmed and probable coronavirus cases, a practice the state had displayed on the front page of the report since June 1.

State health officials said in June that the addition of probable cases and deaths was part of an effort to continue to offer transparent reporting during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the new format, all data about probable cases is moved down to the twenty-first page of the 27-page report.

On Wednesday, the DPH reported 102 new probable COVID-19 cases.
