Officials said they are searching for a mountain lion that was spotted in Citrus Heights over the weekend, according to a Monday release.

Dispatchers received a call Sunday of a mountain lion near Verner Avenue, the Citrus Heights Police Department said.

Officers who responded to the area spotted it in a tree by a home.
