A new video shows the moment an explosion shook the port of Beirut — sending a firework-like blast of “white hot glass” into the air before leveling dozens of buildings in a powerful wave of destruction.

The high resolution footage, which has also been slowed down, offers the clearest look at the explosion in the Lebanese city yet.

Nemeth saw smoke billowing from the port building and left his iPhone recording on the terrace, which was roughly a half mile from the explosion — then walked back inside.

That’s when a powerful blast is shown ripping towards the camera, sending smoke billowing into the sky, and knocking down towering buildings.

“I noticed it was getting bigger and bigger, some huge flames came out and suddenly there was this, ‘boom.’”Nemeth said.

At least 154 people were killed in the explosion and 5,000 were injured, according to Lebanese Health Minister Hamad Hassan
