A Humboldt County resident has died with COVID-19, and 36 new cases of COVID-19 were reported today.

One previously recorded case was incorrectly reported as positive due to a lab error and another was determined to be a duplicate, so the total number of county residents who have tested positive is 2,427.

I’m just stating that I would like to know the particulars instead of just the age and the ever-present suggestion that we should all be very very concerned because “it could be anybody- even you”.

But…I’m not sure there are more unexpected deaths of able-bodied healthy people than a normal flu season.

(There’s a good write-up of his life story on LoCO this evening.) There were 24 reported Humboldt Covid deaths as of last Tuesday, and the first one added since then is today, the “person in their 50s,” the 25th death.

I guess they couldn’t get the information from the County as to whether his was the “death with Covid” reported today.

I know my old school parents wldve done it without question, just as they put us out there for the very first Polio vaccine in the 50s.

If you rummage around on the sites you will find deaths by age group.

Also, for those who’d like to know: currently 1924 people have recovered as well leaving 503 “active” cases in HumCo

In case anyone from the county health team is reading this, it would also be useful to know if they 25 deaths are included in the 82 hospitalizations, just so people have a true picture of what’s going on
