Four people, including an infant, were injured in a medical helicopter crash near Philadelphia Tuesday afternoon.

A police superintendent said it was a "miracle" that a pilot managed to down a helicopter in distress without harming the people on board.

The medical helicopter crashed Tuesday afternoon near the Drexel Hill United Methodist Church in Upper Darby's Drexel Hill, a residential suburb of Philadelphia.

The helicopter was reportedly on its way to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the reasons for the crash remain unclear. 

Bernhardt praised the pilot, saying it was a "miracle" he was able to navigate the helicopter to the ground without causing fatalities or damage to nearby buildings.
