A degree isn't even remotely necessary for most of the jobs that require it, it's just a way of keeping white collar work white.

Fuck, I saw a job asking for a Master's that was offering $18.00 an hour, what the fuck is that shit?

You basically have to be from a family that can afford to fund a degree in order to justify that, anyone who had to take out loans to get that degree can't work for $18 an hour and expect to escape poverty.

More loans to make the same as when I graduated with a bachelor's?

My coworkers act like it's a crime to want to be paid more(they literally were saying this yesterday).

Just like apartheid cops in South Africa and IDF forces in Palestine now.

Well, you can't expect some rich dude to run a for-profit prison without a bunch of really stupid people with arresting powers now can you.

It is extremely dumb that lower level jobs expect degrees though.

They may touch on it but I can’t imagine the police academy is as rigorous as a 4 year university or even an associates degree program?

One of my bachelors is CJ and fortunately I had great professors who incorporated diversity in instruction but unless you are like a Social Work dual major or something, not a requirement!
