At around 7:22 p.m., Dwumfour inside her car outside her home, with multiple gunshot wounds, officials said.

Officials say it appears she crashed the car down the street on Samuel Circle.

"We will remember Eunice for her steadfast dedication to the community, as well as her deep and abiding Christian faith.

We have the utmost confidence that law enforcement will bring the perpetrators of this heartbreaking tragedy to justice," NJ Republican State Committee Chairman Bob Hugin said.

The Newark native attended a meeting on January 23 as a member of the GOP on the Sayreville council.

Sayreville Police and Middlesex County officials are investigating the incident.
