"We don't believe these proposed new policies — particularly around the size and speed of membership growth — will tackle the HFPA's systemic diversity and inclusion challenges, or the lack of clear standards for how your members should operate," Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos wrote in a letter to the HFPA's leadership committee obtained by Deadline.
After years of criticism, the HFPA's current scandal burst wide open in the wake of a Los Angeles Times exposé in February detailing alleged ethical conflicts and other misconduct within the organization, as well as its diversity issuesHowever, HFPA president Ali Sar did respond to Netflix's letter, writing, "We hear your concerns about the changes our association needs to make and want to assure you that we are working diligently on all of them
