Up to 14,000 Polk County residents may not receive their second COVID-19 vaccine on time, according to the Polk County health officials.

“In January, we saw larger allocations of both Pfizer and Moderna vaccine,” said Nola Ainger Davis, with the Polk County Health Department.

The Polk County Health Department said it will now focus on providing second doses, with limited first dose appointments available at clinics and select pharmacies using the Pfizer vaccine.
