TDH: 345 total new COVID-19 cases in Northeast Tennessee; 4 new deaths - WJHL-TV News Channel 11

(WJHL) – The Tennessee Department of Health reported 228,930 confirmed cases and 12,583 probable cases of COVID-19 in the state on Friday.

The health department also announced 2,923 confirmed deaths and 1,248 current hospitalizations due to COVID-19.

On Thursday, TDH reported 225,658 confirmed cases and 2,872 confirmed deaths.

The total COVID-19 case count for Tennessee is 241,513 as of October 23, 2020 including 3,076 deaths, 1,248 current hospitalizations and 214,634 inactive/recovered.

TDH reported 345 total new COVID-19 cases in Northeast Tennessee Friday, with four new deaths reported: one in Unicoi County, three in Washington County.

As several school systems, including Washington County Schools, have brought students back to the classrooms, officials are trying to figure out how to cover for teachers not physically in the school buildings due to COVID-19 hurdles, and how to keep students physically distanced

(WJHL) -  Ballad Health identified a cluster of positive COVID-19 cases at Johnson City Medical Center, officials reported Friday

In a press release, the hospital system reported that 22 team members and six patients have tested positive for COVID-19. Positive employees are in isolation at their homes, and the affected patients have been isolated in a designated, closed COVID-19 unit within the facility
