Spicy Cheetos or mild?

That was the question Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez attempted to answer during a lengthy Facebook Live video posted in late 2016. The footage was recorded during a road trip AOC took with her friends Maria Swisher and Joshua Pereira to the Standing Rock Indian Reservation protests.

“We went to our first rest stop,” AOC says. “Josh picks up regular Cheetos. I’m like, all right. OK, fine. He’s a regular Cheetos guy. I naturally picked up the superior Cheetos, which is the flaming hot Cheetos”

“Maria’s never had a hot Cheeto before,” she continues. “And she’s going to try one right now.”

The tension was palpable, but eventually Maria ate the Cheeto. She was also joined by Josh.

“So give me tasting notes … what’s your impression?” AOC asked.

Pereira said the snack had notes of chocolate and Laudanum, while Swisher declared them sour. “They’ve got some acid in there.”

“You guys are not ready for this,” AOC warns viewers at the top of the video.
