‘Tiger King’: A Woman Claiming to Be the Granddaughter of Don Lewis Thanks Joe Exotic in Shocking TikTok Video

Thanks to Netflix’s Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem, and Madness, we as a nation have come together to get through the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The bizarre docuseries touched on animal rights activist Carole Baskin’s second husband, Don Lewis, who hasn’t been seen since 1997. Now, a woman claiming to be Lewis’s granddaughter is saying her peace via TikTok.

When Don Lewis went missing in Aug. 1997, no one could’ve known his then-wife, Carole [Baskin] would become the subject of a murder-for-hire plot, as explained in Tiger King or the prime suspect from a fan’s point-of-view.

Lewis was declared legally dead in 2002, and Baskin moved on to marry husband, Howard — with whom she still runs Big Cat Rescue. While enough time has passed that Lewis’s case might be considered a done deal, Tiger King opened a new can of worms when fan theories about Baskin’s innocence spiraled out of control.

Some have alleged Baskin murdered Lewis just as Joseph Maldonado-Passage mentioned repeatedly throughout Tiger King. The conversations sparked Hillsborough County Sheriff, Chad Chronister to ask for new leads in Lewis’s disappearance. The case remains open though Baskin is not a suspect at this time.

“1. They had an argument about divorce 2. Don Lewis feared for his life 3. Don Lewis Disappeared. 4. Don Lewis’s Will got stolen 5. The Will had “disappearance” which is odd. 6. “Sardine Oil,” this fan tweeted in response.

“When someone is getting ready to serve divorce papers and then suddenly vanishes…..we know what happened. Carol and her dad made sure there was no crime scene and no body. They are getting away with murder,” another said.

And finally, this viewer added: “hey! I was a fellow Deputy in Pasco! No evidence on my end, but it was clearly obvious Carole did it! Come on…power of attorney forms stolen, inheritance amounts changed, she runs a tiger zoo. She bragged about sardine oil can get a tiger to get human meat.”

Fan opinions are one thing, but what about relatives of Lewis? Funny you ask.

We should’ve known it was a matter of time before someone would take to TikTok to express feelings over subjects portrayed in Tiger King. Now, a woman claiming to be the granddaughter of Don Lewis, Tiffany Lewis, posted her take on the circumstances.

“First and foremost I do want to thank the producers for shedding some light on this horrible situation,” she said on the video. “I haven’t heard his voice in over 20 years and just hearing it was a blessing.”

The woman’s feelings have to do with unanswered questions about Lewis’s disappearance and Baskin’s alleged involvement. One theory, per Tiger King, is that Lewis ran away to Costa Rica. His abandoned van was found at a private airport when he went missing.

“Do you guys think that she murdered my grandfather?” the woman asked. “Or do you think he ran away with none of his f***ing money?”

She continued saying, “she murdered him no doubt” and “I’m not saying she killed him but I’m saying she knows a lot about sardine oil and what tigers like their humans dipped in. Really wish the cops would see it this way!”

She ended the video thanking Maldonado-Passage for “trying to do what he tried to do,” which alluded to his alleged murder-for-hire plot against Baskin for which he’s serving a 22-year sentence. Maldonado-Passage denies involvement.

Baskin maintains her innocence, denying all claims she had anything to do with Lewis’s disappearance.

“I never threatened him and I certainly had nothing to do with his disappearance,” she wrote on her blog last week. “When he disappeared, I did everything I could to assist the police. I encouraged them to check out the rumors from Costa Rica, and separately I hired a private investigator.”

It’s unclear if Baskin’s caught wind of the TikTok video yet. However, if there’s one thing we know about Carole Baskin, it’s that she never hesitates to share her opinion with all us cool cats and kittens.
