(Edelstein played Lowe's romantic interest in the NBC political drama's first season.) Elsewhere, there's a new paramedic captain in town with Gina Torres joining the cast as Tommy Vega — following Liv Tyler's departure from the show — who is thrown back in at the deep end, getting back up to speed after 8 years away from the job
