— New coronavirus cases in Wisconsin are surging to levels they haven’t been since the vaccine first became available to most Wisconsinites.
The state’s Department of Health Services reported a spike of 983 new confirmed cases on Tuesday, up from 278 new cases the day before.
It’s the highest single-day total for new cases since April 8, when 1,049 new cases were reported.
The new total pushes the 7-day average for new cases to 419 per day.
