The songwriter behind one of Australia’s best known ad jingles has been revealed, and he says he still visits his local Bunnings.

The songwriter behind the Bunnings ad jingles has been unmasked, saying he always “knew” he’d be tracked down.

ABC advertising show Gruen revealed they’d tracked down composer Trevor Hilton on Wednesday, a quarter of a century after he first wrote the jingle for the retailer.

“This week, we went on an interstate odyssey to track down the composer of the Bunnings theme,” host Wil Anderson said.

Trevor Hilton still walks the aisles of his local Bunnings in Western Australia.

Mr Hilton said he wrote the song on a sunny afternoon back in 1995.
