Northern Territory Police say two people, feared missing in Central Australia since Monday, have been found and face hefty fines for failing to abide by health directions.

In a statement, NT Police said the pair was ordered to undergo 14 days mandatory quarantine in Alice Springs because they had visited a Victorian COVID-19 hotspot.

A separate group of four people have also been sent to the Alice Springs quarantine facility after police discovered they arrived from South Australia on Friday without submitting a border entry form
