During their visit, Kate Middleton broke royal tradition and hugged the grandfather, Steve Goodman, of Olivia Campbell-Hardy – one of the victims of the tragic incident.

The royal couple were photographed wearing pink wrist bands in support of "Liv's Trust," a charity set up in honour of 15-year-old Olivia who was killed on May 22, 2017 by suicide bomber Salman Abedi.

William and Kate met with Olivia's grandparents, Steve and Sharon Goodman, who launched the charity six months after their granddaughters tragic death.

Since 2017, Liv's Trust has supported nearly 200 people who have a passion for music and dance, just like Olivia.

The royals proudly sported the wristbands handed to them by Olivia's grandfather Steve, which read the trust's motto: "We Choose Love.".

Steve and Sharon will be marking the anniversary by hosting performances from the young people Liv's Trust has supported
