A man flooded his ute crossing a full river He filmed the entire disaster, including from the roof

A bearded four-wheel-drive enthusiast shared the moment a quick river crossing ended up completely flooding his beloved Toyota Hilux.

The unfortunate video, shared on Monday, starts with the man filming the expanse of the river from its rocky shore before confidently declaring he'll easily make his way across.

Just moments later the man is perched on the top of the ute showing how it is caught on a large rock as he reassesses the crossing.

The man then shared his next clip from inside the ute where the water had nearly risen to the top of the dashboard.
