Amanda Holden refuses to back down in Simon Cowell row after Sharon Osbourne's brutal dig

Never one to shy away from controversy, Sharon responded to Amanda's comments with a fiery open letter posted on social media, labelling her as both "crass" and "clueless".

However, you’ve now forced my hand to divulge these things to you and I honestly don’t want to seem like I’m bragging, but the truth is my money and success were not due to doing a couple of Simon Cowell talent shows.

The row erupted after Holden was quoted as saying in MailOnline: "I hated seeing certain people in a reality show dissing Simon he's the person who's given them all the chances, given them a lot of money and a lifestyle they probably wouldn't have had."

During her stint as a guest star on the ITV reality show, Sharon Osbourne and Irish talent manager Louis Walsh made a few remarks concerning well-known individuals, including Simon Cowell.

She also complained about missing out on a significant role as a judge on the debut season of America's The Masked Singer due to contractual obligations with Cowell's The X Factor.

The X Factor, which last graced our screens approximately five years ago, featured a judging panel of Cowell, Louis Tomlinson, Ayda Field, and Robbie Williams, before the show was put on hiatus.
