One person has died with coronavirus and 755 new cases of the virus have been reported in the latest update.

Public Health Wales reports that the cases in the last 24 hours bring the total of positive cases since the pandemic began to 235,635.

The infection rate in Wales now stands at 186.1 cases per 100,000 based on the seven days leading up to July 18, down from 189.4 the day before.

All of Wales' local authorities are now reporting more than 100 positive cases per 100,00 people apart from Carmarthenshire and Anglesey.

The dominant strain of the virus now in circulation in Wales is the Delta variant.

In the last week, all recorded cases of the virus in Wales were Delta, with no cases of the Alpha (Kent) variant identified.

First Minister Mark Drakeford has said nearly all coronavirus restrictions on people and businesses in Wales are set to be lifted on Saturday, August 7.

The area with the highest infection rate in Wales is Denbighshire at 516.2 cases per 100k, followed by Conwy with 357.5.

As of July 22, there were 156 people in general and acute hospital beds with confirmed (99), suspected (24) and recovering (33) cases of coronavirus.

Swansea Bay University Health Board had six and Velindre University Trust and Powys Teaching Health Board had no patients.

As of July 22, there were 24 people in invasive ventilated beds in Wales with coronavirus.

Up to July 22, 2,285,118 people in Wales had received at least one coronavirus vaccine, with 1,959,641 having had both doses.
