Three drugs already in circulation have been found to be effective at preventing infection of human cells by the coronavirus, research published today reveals.

Experiments on lab-grown mini-lungs implanted in mice looked at which pre-existing drugs can prevent infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus which causes COVID-19.

It also prevented infection with SARS-CoV-2 in the experiment
