SEGA looks set to remaster Sonic Colors for the PlayStation 4, marking the former Nintendo Wii (and, technically, Nintendo DS, we suppose) exclusive’s Sony debut.

Eagle-eyed Blue Blur fans spotted a listing for Sonic Colors Remastered on the website of German voiceover studio iksample which was posted at the end of last year.

It’s been over a decade since Sonic Colors first released, and it was generally well regarded at the time – eventually leading to the release of Sonic Generations, which people really liked!

Sonic Forces and Sonic Mania previously launched in 2017, so it does feel like we’re overdue some hangtime with SEGA’s hedgehog – even if it is dished out in remastered form.

A true PlayStation veteran, Sammy's covered the world of PS gaming for years, with an enormous Trophy count to prove it.

Prob the best 3d sonic game so this will be good.

@Milt You can play PS4 games on a PS5.

I'd actually like Sonic Lost World on something other than Wii U.

Not played Lost World myself, but looked increasingly different to the other games (I did have the 3DS version).

Ohhh I hope this is true I really enjoyed this game and I would also like to see Sonic Lost World on PS4/PS5 too.

@Ristar24 Lost World is on PC too but the performance leaves a lot to be desired.

The ds game was a 2d side scroller a la sonic mania, and the wii game was obviously more of a 3d platformer.

It's also made me realise how rarely Sonic games get remade.

They should do the same for Generations, which isn't as bad as everyone made it out to be, and Lost World, which has a nearly unmatched soundtrack.

Generations is considered to be one of the best Sonic titles by most fans.

It's probably the most well-liked 3d sonic game by the general population and fanbase.

Not my favorite 3D Sonic game but it was definitely a pretty stunning game for Wii at the time and would definitely look pretty stellar with an HD makeover.

It's just that when people play Sonic games, they don't expect to play a beat 'em up game.

But if you look at it as two games, a typical Sonic game with on-rails stages, and another game that is a beat 'em up on the simpler side, it's not that bad.

But you know, gamers are an entitled bunch who don't like change, so the game has gotten a bad reputation.

I missed this game when it first released and I finally got around to playing a few months ago.

I was genuinely surprised that I couldn't enjoy it since I've heard great things about it and it is often compared to Sonic Generations, which I loved.

Especially since I play older games regularly and can usually adjust to them.

They signed off on SEGA making their next few Sonic games exclusive to their hardware from 2013-2014

The games that were part of that deal were Sonic Lost World, Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, and the two Sonic Boom games that came out to tie in with the TV show

All those games were exclusive to either the 3DS, the Wii U or both

@TheFrenchiestFry Thanks for the clarification, I remember Sonic Boom looked awful

Be good if Lost World gets a more general release some day, as I say I had the 3DS version and was pretty good

I don't recall ever playing Sonic Colors so I'd be up to giving it a try on the PS4

"It’s been over a decade since Sonic Colors first released"

Would really be nice to have all 3 of the Wii's exclusive Sonic titles out on it

I'm good on re-playing the Sonic Colors game though, was pretty good on Wii

I heard it’s one of the better 3D Sonic games out there

I never owned this game but I played it before and remember it being a ton of fun

Definitely one of the better 3D Sonic games of the bunch
