Unfortunately, like Sticker Star, there were required (and sometimes obtuse) required progression points.

I said there's not a lot to spoil in a Paper Mario game, surely no one plays Mario games expecting a LotR type of plot
I can't imagine there will be anything in the game that you really can't learn ahead or it will ruin your experience of the game, but I'm happy to be proved wrong
