Television actor Sejal Sharma was found hanging in her flat at Mira Road on Friday morning. Sharma who has been part of a popular TV show called Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji also left behind a suicide note. As per a report in Times of India, the Kashimira police has registered a case of accidental death. Reportedly two of her friends, including a room mate are currently being questioned. The reason behind Sejal taking the drastic step is still unknown, however, several reports suggest that Sejal was going through a difficult time professionally and personally with her show shutting down leaving her without work.
Sejal was living on rent on the second floor of Royal Nest housing society, Shivar Garden, Mira Road. In the serial, Sejal played the role of Simmi Khosla, Jasmin Bhasin's onscreen adopted sister. Although the show began in January 2019, it ended abruptly in August. Police has said that she was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her bedroom at around 5 am. The police also said that the suicide note which was found near her stated that nobody should be blamed for her suicide.
Jasmin Bhasin who played Sejal's sister in the show gave her condolences to the actress on Instagram. She wrote, "It's unbelievable that you are no more with us, such a happy girl, your presence would just light up any place, only you know what you were going through that you decided to end your life. I will miss you I wish this would have never happened. Rip @i_sejalsharmaofficial."
Meera Deosthale who also happens to be a dear friend of Sejal also wrote, "Sejal, May your soul rest in peace. My friend decided to end her life today and I am Shocked to know that a person who was always smiling and happy was suffering through depression. I wish u would have reached out to anyone and we could have helped u... sending u love and prayers."
