Another 29 deaths from COVID-19 were reported Friday, Aug.

The county reported more deaths each of the past two Mondays — 42 on Aug.

As of Friday, 799 county residents have died of COVID-19.

Because that makes the number of positive results seem lower than it really is, the state has frozen the process of removing counties from the coronavirus watchlist — which Riverside County is on — Ghaly said.

Intensive-care unit patients: 125 Thursday, down from 128 Wednesday; Suspected patients: 14 Thursday, up from 12 Wednesday.

Skilled-nursing facilities: Residents: 1,194 (last update Thursday); deaths: 177.
