The head of a hospital in Milan, Italy claims the novel coronavirus no longer exists in the country — clinically speaking, that is.

“In reality, the virus clinically no longer exists in Italy,” Alberto Zangrillo, head of the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, told RAI television, according to the New York Post.

Another doctor, Matteo Bassetti, the head of the infectious diseases clinic at the San Martino hospital in Genoa, echoed Zangrillo.

As of this writing, the country has reported 33,530 deaths from the virus, according to Johns Hopkins University data.
