The dust had barely cleared on the San Francisco Giants series victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday, when the Dodgers made the biggest move of the trade deadline by acquiring All-Star teammates from the Washington Nationals: RHP Max Scherzer and shortstop Trea Turner.But, in a perverse way, it might be better than had Scherzer ended up with the San Diego Padres, as it initially looked like he would, simply because the Giants only have three games left against the Dodgers — and 10 against the Padres.
The Giants play the Houston Astros tonight at 6:45 p.m.
