Fern Britton's 'pretty awful' time with Phillip Schofield unveiled after This Morning rift

Fern is feeling delighted to be back in the fold (Image: ITV) Fern Britton’s friend has claimed the presenter felt “forgotten” after leaving ITV “under a dark cloud” 15 years ago, but is now feeling delighted to be back in the fold following her former co-star Phillip Schofield’s resignation from the station.

The 66-year-old made her return to the This Morning studios at the end of March, in an emotional moment, as she was interviewed by new hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard about her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

Many fans were delighted to see Fern back on their TV screens and took to social media to share their joy.

She also spoke of revelations that Phillip had an “unwise but not illegal” relationship with a young runner who worked on This Morning which ultimately led to his departure.

When Fern announced she was quitting This Morning, she addressed the entire team but didn't mention Phillip specifically.
