Carson Wentz: Jim Irsay comments “out of left field,” thought we were in a pretty good place - NBC Sports

Colts owner Jim Irsay opted for bluntness when it came to summing up Carson Wentz‘s year as the team’s quarterback when he said in March that moving forward with a “mistake” was the worst thing a team can do and that it was “very obvious” that the team needed to move on this offseason.

“I thought last year was a really fun year.

Wentz’s take on his time with the Colts is very different than the ones Irsay and others have shared since his departure, but he will get a chance to make his case that the Colts made a mistake by trading him away when he hits the field for the Commanders this fall.

Perhaps he realizes this is his last chance after getting traded 2x in just over a year and the last time it being a surprise that he wasn’t just outright released.

The only place left after this year would be the Texans, lead by McNair and pastor Easterby, who keep trying to find a way to make Josh McCown, outspoken evangelist, an NFL head coach despite having ZERO coaching experience.

This is the quote that lets you know for sure Wentz has not learned anything over the past two seasons and will never change from being the guy two teams didn’t want primarily because of his personality?

So his lack of awareness isn’t just an on field issue for Wentz.

I think the Colts will win a lot more games with Matt Ryan than Wenz.

Carson Wentz does the same in Indy and the owner unloads on him to the press.

I think it says more about Irsay than it does about Wentz.

In an otherwise dismal year for the Jags the last game with the Colts was spectacular.

Wentz didn’t have a chance from the first snap as he was smothered by the Jags defense the whole game.

Hes completely correct the Colts needed to move on from Wentz.

That’s now two teams that have now wanted to get far away from Wentz in a short periods of time.

Just about any other QB seems to get a bit more time to work through the on-field issues, but not Wentz.

That pick 6 loss at home to Tennessee when the Colts had a double digit lead in a huge division game was a worse loss than the jags loss?
