Waluigi is not super popular in Japan and besides that, he was only created to give Wario a partner for third party games.

I’ve wanted Waluigi in Smash since the Brawl days.

The only time he was a featured villain was in a dance game...It's been 20 years since his creation and in all those years he's been in nothing but party games.

It's actually criminal that all the main characters in the mario franchise are in Smash except one.

Toad should have been a playable fighter in Smash since Melee or Brawl.

He's been playable in main series Mario games, appeared in most of the Mario spin-offs, and had his own spin-off games.

Toad deserves to be in Smash more then Waluigi.

I don't mind to Waluigi, but I liked the idea of him stealing the invitation from another character.

But in the end of the present Sakurai (the character) sit in his desk and make more two and the third-party one, Waluigi and Sakurai become fighters in a 3 character presentation when everybody would be ready for one.

Rool is missing for 10 years", "Dragon Quest is only popular in Japan", "Banjo is dead and irrelevant", "No one knows who is Terry", "Minecraft is zoomer trash, Steve is a meme" and even "Sephiroth's sword is too big", yet people still insist in doing this with more characters like Waluigi.

And even though it's true that Waluigi is just a spin-off character, he doesn't appear in the mainline games, he only appears in games like Mario Kart and Mario Tennis, and even in these games he doesn't have a big role, and yes, he was created just to be the tennis partner for Wario, people forget that these games sell dozens of millions, more than the mainline games, Mario Kart 8 alone sold over 40 million copies and Waluigi is in that game

I personally am not a big fan of having another Mario character but if the last character to be announced was Waluigi, it's guaranteed that Smash Bros Ultimate/DLC will end in a bang and I'd like to see that instead of them revealing some character that most people have never heard of
