The Jungle Cruise movie is actually based on the Disney World attraction of the same name, according to The Wrap.

Since the movie is loosely based on the theme park ride, the companies wanted the theme park to be open and the ride to be available for public use after the release of the movie.

After years of production and setbacks, the Jungle Cruise movie will be released on July 30, 2021.
